Contest Entry – Winnipeg Downtown Biz Banners

The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ (Business Improvement Zone) is holding a contest to replace its current banners for lightstands at entrances to the Winnipeg’s downtown. The banners will be at the Osborne Street Bridge, the Disraeli Overpass, the Midtown bridge and the Queen Elizabeth Bridge (formerly the Norwood Bridge).

The contest was based on the idea of a “gateway” or “threshold,” and a basic design was then presented in four colour options for each bridge.

These are Jetpack Media’s entries (the contest is now closed). The gateway concept is represented here by the arch at the top of the image, which is also the top of an exclamation mark.
